Helping With Learning At Home

In each class children may have some things they can practice at home.  Often these will be shared through seesaw.
We prefer children to spend as much time at home playing and having fun, however it they are keep to sit down with you and practice then by all means do.  Rather than homework this could be looked at as a sharing of learning.
Simply spending time and showing an interest in your child's learning makes an incredible difference in your child's progress and the importance they will place on school and learning.

This site has some excellent ways you can help at home with reading, writing and maths.

Remember reading does not just have to be done from the book that a child brings home from school.  If you are looking for ways of encouraging further reading at home the newspaper, magazines, or even articles from the internet are great places to start.  It is also a great idea to get a library card, children enjoy borrowing books and they have a huge selection of texts that are different levels.
